★ The wedge feature

The Trade Partner Portal nobody else has.

Your tile guy, cabinet installer, and electrician each get their own secure portal with an iCal feed they can subscribe to from any calendar app. They see only what they need. They stay in sync automatically. You stop sending group texts that get lost by Friday.

§ Why this matters

Trade coordination is where remodels die.

Every experienced remodeler has lost a week to the same problem: the tile guy showed up on Tuesday but the drywall wasn't ready, the electrician got your text on Wednesday afternoon, and the cabinet delivery rescheduled itself in your head but nobody else's. Nobody else in the contractor software market treats trade partner coordination as a first-class feature. Jobber charges per user. Houzz Pro doesn't really have it. Joist isn't built for it. MY LAURA was built around it.

§ How competitors handle this

Who has a real trade partner portal?

MY LAURA ✓ First-class feature

Unlimited trade partners. Dedicated portal per trade. iCal feed per trade. Each trade only sees the details that matter to them — their schedule, their POs, their scope. Included in flat $199/mo.

Jobber × Per-user pricing

Calls it "dispatch." Each crew member is a seat. Plus tier runs $599/mo for 15 users. No sub-facing portal with iCal.

Houzz Pro ~ Limited

Subs can be added to schedules but lack a dedicated portal. No iCal subscribe. Sub-specific views are thin.

Joist / Beam × Not a feature

Joist is invoice-first. Beam is finance-first. Neither treats trade partner coordination as a product area.

§ How it works

Four steps from assignment to installed.

No training required. No app to download. Your trades can be using this by end of day.

STEP 01

Assign in the schedule

Add a trade partner to an appointment in MY LAURA. Scope notes, start time, duration, address — all attached automatically.

STEP 02

Portal link goes out

Your tile guy gets an SMS with a secure link to his portal. No password. One tap, and he's looking at his assignments.

STEP 03

He subscribes to his iCal feed

One-tap subscribe button. From now on, every appointment you assign to him shows up in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook — automatically.

STEP 04

Changes sync themselves

Reschedule in MY LAURA, and his calendar updates within the hour. Need to force a resend? One click on the appointment card.

§ What's inside the portal

Designed for people who don't want to learn software.

WHAT THEY SEE

Only the details that matter to their work.

Your tile guy sees his appointments, the scope notes for his day, the address, and any POs issued to his company. He doesn't see other trades' schedules, estimate totals, client contact info, or your books. Clean, focused, nothing irrelevant.

SUBSCRIBABLE iCAL

Works with whatever calendar they already use.

Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook, Fantastical, BusyCal — anything that speaks iCal. One-time subscribe, automatic sync for life. No "please download our app" conversation.

SMS RESEND

One click to re-notify a trade.

Someone's not showing up? Click the resend icon on the appointment card in MY LAURA. A fresh SMS goes out with the link, the time, and the address. A2P-compliant, opt-out compliant, logged automatically.

MULTI-TRADE APPOINTMENTS

Assign as many trades as the job needs.

A single appointment can have the cabinet installer, the electrician, and the countertop measurer all assigned. Each one gets their own SMS notification with the time, address, and scope. Everyone on the appointment sees the same scope note — if you need to give different instructions to different trades, the cleaner pattern is to book separate appointments on the same day.

EMPLOYEE ACCESS

Notify a crew member without showing them financials.

Got a trade partner whose employee needs to get the text but shouldn't see POs or pricing? Add the employee as their own trade with just a phone number, attach them to the relevant appointments, and they'll only see those appointments in their own portal — nothing about your POs or the parent trade partner's financials.

§ Under the hood

It's a real iCalendar feed. Here's what it looks like.

MY LAURA publishes a standards-compliant iCalendar feed per trade partner. Any app that speaks RFC 5545 can consume it. No vendor lock-in, no proprietary format, no "download our app." This is the entire point.
