Business Reports: did this job make money?

The most important question in a remodeling business is the hardest to answer: did the job make money? MY LAURA's reporting is designed around that question — project profitability in real time, AR/AP aging, lead conversion, and customizable columns for every report. Your bookkeeper will stop asking for reports you don't have time to build.

PROFITABILITY

Per-project P&L in real time

Revenue, costs by category, margin, net profit. Not month-end bookkeeping — live data as invoices, POs, and payments happen.

AR / AP AGING

Who owes you, who you owe

AR by client by aging bucket. AP by vendor by due date. Click anywhere to drill into the underlying invoices or POs.

CONVERSIONS

Lead source ROI

Which lead sources convert. Which estimate types win. Your marketing spend, measured.

The reports, one at a time.

Project Profitability.

The most important report in the system. For each project, MY LAURA calculates: total revenue (from invoices), material costs (from POs), trade partner costs (from trade partner payments), labor costs (from entered labor), and net profit. You see it all in a single table sortable by any column. Summary cards at the top show aggregate numbers — total revenue, total profit, average margin — and a color-coded profitability indicator flags any project that's tracking below target margin.

This is real-time. As invoices get sent, POs get recorded, and change orders get applied, the report updates. You don't wait until month-end to know whether a project is profitable.

Print Project Profitability (detail PDF).

The Project Profitability report is the pipeline-level view — every project on one screen. When you need the deep dive on a single project, open the project, click Actions → Print Project Profitability, and MY LAURA generates a line-item PDF: every estimate line against its actuals, every PO against its cost, and the resulting margin per line. Choose which columns to show before exporting — estimate vs. actuals only, with or without PO detail, with or without markup — so the PDF matches what you (or your bookkeeper, or your banker) actually need to look at. It's the report you hand to yourself at month-end when a job feels tight and you want to know exactly which lines are bleeding.

Accounts Receivable Aging.

Outstanding invoices grouped by age: Current, 1–30 days, 31–60, 61–90, 90+. Grand totals at the bottom. Click any row to see the underlying invoices. This is the report you run Monday morning to know exactly who's behind and what needs chasing.

Accounts Payable.

Unpaid purchase orders and trade partner bills, grouped by vendor and due date. Shows you exactly what cash you owe out. When you're planning the week's cash flow, this is the first report you open.

Lead Conversion Report.

Every lead in MY LAURA has a source (Thumbtack, referral, website, walk-in, etc.) and a status (contacted, quoted, closed-won, closed-lost). The conversion report crunches that into a funnel: how many leads came from each source, how many made it to estimate, how many closed, and the revenue each source generated. Now you know where to spend your marketing dollars.

Lead Status Report.

A table of every active lead with last-contact date, status, and days in pipeline. Two filters — status and days — with the default view set to the last 30 days. Use it to find leads going cold or approved estimates that haven't been converted to projects. A basic report on purpose: two filters, fast answers.

Billing Health.

The report that finds money you already earned but haven't invoiced for yet — signed change orders that didn't make it onto an invoice, in-progress projects whose progress draws are overdue, and two more billing gaps, all on one page with batch actions to fix them. Open it once a week and the AR aging report you run the week after has nothing on it that should have been invoiced earlier. See the Billing Health feature in detail →

Project profitability report with summary cards and column customization

Customization and export.

Column customization on every report.

Every report has a gear icon that opens a column visibility dropdown. Hide columns you don't care about, show columns you do. Your bookkeeper cares about different things than you care about — customize views per user.

Excel export.

Every report exports to Excel with one click. Column headers, formatting, data types preserved. Your CPA can open it in Excel or import it into whatever they're running for year-end.

Scheduled report emails.

Set up automated weekly or monthly emails — e.g., "Every Monday 8am, send me the AR aging report as PDF." Your bookkeeper can get the AP report every Friday without asking. Each scheduled report has an opt-in toggle to include the underlying data as a CSV attachment, so the bookkeeper opens the email and gets both the rendered report and a spreadsheet to work from.

Date range presets on every report.

Last 7 Days, This Month, Last Month, plus a custom range picker — one click on every report. Saved defaults stick when you set up scheduled emails, so a "Last Month" report scheduled for the 1st of every month always reflects the previous calendar month, not whatever range was open last time you visited.
